When I work a curling event my writing is usually centred around digital media, or game and session reporting. It’s not often I get to spend the time to write feature articles for the World Curling Federation.
I’m working the World Mixed Curling Championship in Aberdeen this week and amongst all the usual jobs I have to do, a feature story made itself obvious to me. New Zealand Curling have started a programme where they send players to other countries for six months, to live and work in the curling community and learn as much as they can.
This week, two of those curlers were competing at the event and I had the opportunity to sit down with them to chat about the program, their background and their experiences so far.
If you’d like to read it, you can find it on the World Curling Federation website.
